Happy Valentine’s Day to everyone in love, to people that are in unrequited love, to the people in love with nobody but themselves— you are in love with your family, with that kid that never forgets to wish you bye while leaving for your work, in love with the memories you never thought you’d have, with that person who you know you shouldn’t love, with that person who didn’t have a clue about your love, with the cat that was almost dead after a dog attack but survived for you, with the duck at office that keeps running away from you but gets out of water when you come by, only for you; in love with the person you met in the bus-stand who never dared to smile but always wished to look into your eyes, in love with that ex-mentor at work you never dared to confess, with that little pup that never stops jumping on you the moment you are seen walking towards your home right from that traffic signal, you’re in love with that colleague you’re afraid of falling for, in love with the kind bus-mate who helped you with online payment because you were out of cash.
You are in love with the beautiful skies, with the scarred moon, with the bald trees which once was a tree full of Bougainville pink and yellow flowers, with the mother who runs her livelihood on the busy streets, selling her art —her clay articles, layered with heavy dust, rarely sold and who is running after her kid that’s stubborn to wear an underwear re-stitched a dozen times. You are in love with the moments. With the very little moments that aren’t little. You are in love, constantly, periodically, or once in a while but you ARE in love, because love is very indefinable, love is very pure, a very genuine and unconditional feeling, a feeling beyond bounds, beyond words— an emotion that doesn’t fade away even if you know your love is not reciprocated.
